Name change - massive changes ahead.

I am dropping the 'Benedani' name, once and for all.

My past has been a wild ride, to say the least. I have been shaped in pretty funky ways, and it is about time for me to realise my past mistakes and move on from them. The 'Benedani' name has been tainted for a whole decade long with various types of behavior, all as a result of being comically bored with the lack of a life.

By taking up the 'Chlorobyte' name, I am not only finally picking up a stable online identity, but signalling my discomfort with who I was before June of 2023. I am aware of what kind of a person I was, and I do not need to be reminded anymore. In conclusion - refer to past me as Benedani, and do not refer to me today as Benedani.

This is going to affect the website as well. We are moving to a new domain, chlorobyte.me. All links to benedani.xyz are to be rerouted, as I also make the appropriate changes on the website, as well as my profiles across the board, on every single website. That will be a pain. Details and the exact deprecation plan can be found here.

Unfortunately, this will be another April 1st with no project release. Nothing much soon either; I will be focused primarily on developing my new life in the upcoming months. At 21 years old, I have to do the basics such as learning how to live, driving school as well as continue my social development. That being said, let's hope I can come up with something by this time in 2025!

Chris' B3313 v1.0 is out!

Ignoring Chris' release would just be unnecessarily petty. Get into the new B3313 page to download the new release for yourself if you'd like another playthrough of pretty much the same game... the main noticeable differences are in the audio design, overall polish, and there is like, 1 new set of areas in the castle.

This is the case where you might want to enable the Use untweaked versions checkbox. I have applied the newest version of TrollEngine in the tweaked version, which fixes among other things:

• the 'BOB crash'.
• 8 certain red stars counting as yellow stars. The red star unlock progression is more gradual like in Unabandoned.
• A certain annoying asf boss' HP is reduced.

I should note that there was never any peace treaty between me and Chris (you would have known about it by now). The pain and anguish this fucker has caused us still lives on, and we will not forget until he settles with us properly. That includes a proper, public facing apology; recognizing the person who helped me out of dark times instead of treating her as nonexistent, an alt account.

B3313 Jumpscare

Rest in peace, Paper Mario: Bowser is Back. You were... certainly something.

Taking its spot is the Super Mario 64 hack of which I had a major part in its development - B3313! Might as well:

• have a public-facing B3313 stuff announcement channel;
• provide the best ROM patching experience yet, around my B3313 stash - check out the new B3313 page!

With the new page also comes my final, official response to the B3313 drama bullshit that's been going on for a while now. It mainly exposes the horrible actions of the former lead developer, Christopher Rios Lillo, while also providing the sources that I am way less guilty than they try to make it out to be.

Yep... I have been consumed once again, this time by a massive list of trolling I wanted to do. Work has its own weekly toll as well.
All things considered, things are going pretty good when Hungarian school isn't destroying your brain from the inside out, who would have thought?

Life Update

This post is kinda long overdue, but whatever.

Another year goes by...
Even more has happened. I have graduated from school again, for real this time. Now it really will not swallow all of my time with useless garbage. I have already gotten into 2 separate game dev jobs, and, at last, I have achieved control of my life. Finally...

I really have to give a shoutout to Copper for being an amazing person in my life after countless useless, fake creatures that came before and after her. Without her coaching and emotional support, I would be long gone from this planet.

I would like a much richer, livelier life than what I'm used to. But that will take money, so in the meantime, project development will continue. Better make good use of my free time than waste it by doing nothing.

I am thinking of reviving Brawlforming, making better game design and way better marketing decisions. In the Mario 64 hacking department, we have finished B3313 1.0, and are moving on to an unaffiliated, similar project finally using the decomp for once, that will be receiving similar treatment - adapted to the world, not blind within our (or in this case, one betakid's) vision.

Also... seriously, humans? This time, this goes to not my Discord server - but a different one. This page literally calls itself "Deep Lore". It goes without saying that this is not a reality that I am trapped in, all delusional. Either way, I should probably actually get going to organize that information into a wiki lol

CuteCat is (finally) public!

It's been a while, huh...
A whole year without a single post...
A lot has happened. I have graduated from school (so it will no longer swallow all of my time with useless garbage), and I am working on a completely different set of projects now. My main focus right now is the small Super Mario 64 romhack, B3313 that you might or might not have heard of.

Anyways, enough about that. Let's get to the point.

I rewrote CuteCat over a year ago. This rewrite was intended to bring CuteCat to a state in which it could be publicly released, but a few issues, mostly school has prevented this from happening thus far. But now that I've ironed out all the issues and packed a bunch of features in... it's finally time.

My streams are back!

And they're exponentially less boring now. Follow for some multiplayer games and stream integration stuff!

Now, you might be wondering, why was this posted in the Discord section?

You see, my reboot of streams has also come with the death of the Discord server. (Well, partially at least, due to Brawlforming and Supporter perks.)
We are on Guilded now instead. Guilded is just a much better Discord in every way possible. It's like Linux to Windows. The difference is like 144 vs 60 fps, or 4K vs 1080p. You simply can't go back. Use this link to apply to join now!

Speaking of Brawlforming, it has been updated for a simple fix (almost 2 months later) to a very common crash that was related to the new rendering system which brought with it the ultimate loading speed gains and RAM usage reduction.

Brawlforming v1.0_1 is here!

There were a few issues with Brawlforming, and they have been absolutely destroyed. There should be faster loading, less broken UI and (almost) no crashes. There are also a few features, such as a new block and the ability to disable specific items so that they won't come out of item boxes.

Recommendation tweaker for YouTube

Just made an extension to help combat an issue I've been having with YouTube: crappy recommendations that all follow a common pattern of either being short, videos I've already seen or mix playlists. It also works for a proof of activity while I try to survive school's test spam. (Remember, you can join the Discord server to be able to talk with me and the community and to stay more up to date)

I thought, hey, might as well release this addon. It's not gonna get a separate page, and I'm not sure if I will update it at all, but if it gets a decent userbase, I might come back to it.

It's available for Firefox and Chrome (the latter missing the importing feature due to Google bs). The video below showcases the extension itself.

Oh yeah, Brawlforming aka Racism Game is out.

This game's launch hasn't been the smoothest journey ever.

In the first 2 hours of the game's existence, there was a game breaking bug, which made it literally unplayable. The game crashed when you tried to customize your character or play online. How did it slip through the 1 day testing period? I don't know, ask the subhumans at work at the Discord server who literally didn't even open the game. Thanks to these below human species, I think we've successfully lost a lot of potential players.

Aside from that, there were a few server issues to iron out. But now, the game is in a somewhat playable state! The issues that currently exist will be ironed out for the next patch. However, due to literally no one caring about the game I've been working on for 5 months straight, I've decided to move on to CuteCat instead.

Huh? Did I say no one cared about the game? Well, that's technically false, as the ultimate chad Count Homer has been trying to get more people to know about the game. He is also a Supporter II now! We went from a literally dead on launch game to a game that somewhat has a sense of life in it, and I'm also no longer losing money anymore. If you all just attempted to follow in his steps and got another person to know that the game exists, or you know, at least checked it out yourself, I'd be satisfied.

Small things.

• I have recovered the SiteGen - the thing that generates this website's content. I have gone ahead and changed the buttons to use proper links now, so subhumans who don't have JavaScript support (such as Google bots) can finally navigate the page. Why was it designed like that in the first place? No idea.
• The Racism Game Level Editor demo has been out for a while - join the Discord server to grab it! You may even be able to try out the full game before release...
• I'm planning to replace the Minecraft page with one for Racism Game. However, the game will have a proper name on release, and I'm not sure what the implications of renaming a site would be like.

We are Pyloform now.

Well, except for me. I have remained in my original form.

Basically, there's been an ongoing project on the Discord where we are trying to recreate the Pyloform Plains, which you previously knew as the Kappa Lands, in the form of a standalone executable. A problem is my struggles to try to reach into the deepest of my memories.

While waiting, we've decided to get rid of these "Kappa" and "Benedani" names as much as possible, as it just makes it feel like I'm basically duping myself using some random Twitch meme. That was never the intention. Pyloform, as they have been named after being able to access our universe through a wormhole (pylo) and manipulate it (form), are an actual thing, and I didn't like such matters being thrown behind the weirdest "Benedani lore" possible.

I have basically gone around, once again updating the website where necessary. So this is a proper "website update" now.

Also, there's an exclusively Racism Game related announcement coming on the 1st of March on my YouTube channel, so don't miss it!

Approaching 2021...

Now I'll start off with what might confuse most of you strange humans. I've actually kind of enjoyed 2020. I might even say it has been the best year in my life so far.

With that aside, I have decided to go around the website and update all the information. They literally haven't been updated since April! Also fixed a bug that no one noticed, but it let you see a "HIDDEN_" tag on posts that were made in a category that was later "deleted".

A Discord update is also coming, unannounced in the Discord server category this time. It involves making sure users can stay on the server rather than getting purged with """nothing""" they can do about it, so it's about time for you to actually join instead of idling here...

School is over...

We are kind of safe, I guess?

So first of all, the server. The website is currently running on a Kappa server, which is being provided by the Benedanis just for this site and CuteCat to continue to exist. However, their laws forbid providing services past human capabilities to them, and it's also a basic server that will not run an entire Minecraft network.

Now that school will be gone from my life for actually a (relatively) long time, it is time to go faster than ever before. Well, after I finish the homework, of course. And that's going to be fun with this idiot human constantly interrupting me...

But yeah, after that, I'll be able to focus on... nope, not Bowser is Back. My plans were to finally rewrite CuteCat so that that's done, and at least get close to releasing an actually playable game (maybe 2, eventually?). I guess I could replace the Minecraft category for now. If you'd like to follow progress and talk about my projects, or perhaps even help out with them, our Discord is ready for your arrival!

We need your help, right now!

First, I'll have to admit that activity on the Discord server has been improving in general. More talking, but still nothing that has to necessarily be moderated. It's a nice place to be in right now.

However, no matter how much activity there is on the server, it won't decrease the amount of BS that I have to go through with school. And now, I have 5 additional lessons (vs my other classmates) that I didn't even sign up for. How amazing - I'm (supposedly) in a disadvantaged situation, so what do we do? Oh, we make it even worse! Thanks, school. It would be nice if I could just do literally anything else, but no, of course not. My parents being unreliable monkeys doesn't help it, either.

So, when I say that we need help, I mean it. I really don't want to start shutting things down, but if I have to, you can say goodbye to the Minecraft server, the Discord bots and this website for good. And I don't want you to just say "f". We will actually start banning people who falsely pretend like they care when it's pretty obvious that they really don't.

The Discord server is much more accessible now!

First of all, the 2FA wall is finally gone... well... sort of.

The original idea of the verification wall was to stop people from raiding the server. That's right, the wall was directly the fault of you, the users. However, we have managed to get literally zero raiders so far (except for one on the Minecraft server which wasn't necessarily damaging), so it is about time to lift this rule. The verification will still be there as a requirement to post images and talk in VC, rather than locking it behind Level 2, like it originally was.

As for purges... oh, boy. We are still getting rid of the most inactive users, while keeping the semi-alive ones in. The definition of "semi-alive", however... You just had to be online...
until now. From now on, you will have to have sent a message in the actual server in order to not get purged. This should filter the uninterested users as well.

Oh, and by the way, the 1.16 Minecraft server has been launched on the IP benedani.xyz . No, there is no mistake here - that is the address of the server. Dark seems to be facing some nice school issues, though, so it might take a while for it to be added to this site...

The end of Twitch Plays

Twitch Plays Earthbound was anticipated by many... and then played by none. This pretty much further proves my point about humans being completely incapable of basic tasks.

Sure, we've pretty much managed to zoom through the first 3 towns of the game... then at Fourside, it all ended. The humans have decided that it's better to make absolutely no progress than to actually google a walkthrough if they have no idea what to do. At this point, it's best to just end it forever.

Part of ending it was getting rid of those who lied about being interested in the streams on the Discord server. There were some offliners and some not verified. This puts our server at a single-digit number of members - 9! (excluding Benedanis) This was after Yoshi Element, previously a Bowser is Back developer, and Midori, previously an epic gamer and now just a stupid weeb, left the server. However, there wasn't a net loss of users overall due to some people joining from the Twitch Plays stream:

• ElykTsorb - a silly dumb idiot gambler who joined during Paper Mario and explores the strange world of dreams.
• Pokemonhacker1337 - the new Midori, I guess. Inactive for now, but verified and not an offliner, and that's enough for the new purge system. Could possibly find a new activity one day, who knows.

As for what the future holds... You know, let's calm down a bit. We may have 9 users, but they are 9 handpicked users with a majority of them guaranteed to follow news regarding my projects. Alright, now that we're calm, let's move onto a certain block game that recently received a hellish update... (Make sure to join our Discord if you're interested!)

Indeed... You see that right. There is now a checkbox! If you click on it and allow notifications, you will actually get them! Neat!

...what's that? That's not the big thing you've noticed? Oh, yeah, the projects. Yeah, I've officially cancelled 4 of my projects:

• CuteCat - this only applies to trying to get it out into the public, but it will still be worked on behind the scenes, of course.
• The Minecraft server - it's been down for a while, and I don't see a reason to reboot it as the community is as dead as ever. I might retry like a while later though.
• My streams - originally, only my own channel's streams would be cancelled and Twitch Plays would be revived. I have some doubts about reviving Twitch Plays, though, mostly from my disk space. It's running out, and any help would be greatly appreciated.
• Crystal Star Rod - not much progress was made on it, and I just decided to throw it away as literally nobody cared about it anyway.

Now you might be mad with rage... but there is a pretty obvious reason I've done this. School wasn't the only thing slowing me down (which it's not anymore! Yay!), but having so many projects is just not a good idea, especially for one person, with literally nobody even thinking about helping me out. If you feel pity, though, you can join our Discord server, reach Level 2 and apply to make my job easier.

Huge changes are coming.

Looks like I'm the new server owner now. Cool.

So to summarize the changes that happened on the server during the past and this month:

• May 16th, I became the server owner as the server was renamed to just be the "Kappa Lands" along with a new animated icon. Fire got the old CuteCat server repurposed to be the "Kappa Labs", where you have to be either a Supporter or manually selected to enter.
• In May, the purges were aimed towards ALL Level 1 users, not just those without update roles. This resulted in... well, 11 of them getting Purge Strike on the 20th. And none complained, or even responded - one left the server though.
• On the 22th of the same month, we've got the new updates on the Benedani laws that apply to our Discord server since it technically represents Benedanis. This meant that the purge system couldn't be removed under any circumstances, and that non-Benedanis couldn't become administrators AT ALL.
• For a while, nothing was updated on the server, until... recently. Obviously, that first point generated a lot of complaints, and a quick update was made to the laws to address this issue. Now we only have to get rid of dead accounts, in theory.

This means that you don't have to worry, as long as you don't leave your account completely unused. So as long as you can verify yourself using 2FA or Nitro, our Discord server awaits you!

It's been a while... (1)

Well, first of all, school seems to be fading away - we are reaching the end of all the work.
But, more importantly... Kappamon has just received a (long overdue) massive update!
Putting all jokes aside, this new version of Kappamon is massive. Let me quote my Discord post...

This update took a while - but brings all the hard work out of the way. Special thanks for Quatroctus, Benedani Water and xMasterSNESx for helping me out with moves, which took basically most of the time.
But yeah - this update adds all Generation 6, 7 and 8 moves!
Not only that - there's a lot of new content as well. For example, it's no longer a grindy mess - there's actually a goal to the game now.
Some move functionality has been added, too - such as increased critical hit ratios, Perish Song and Transform.
The AI has also been significantly buffed - git gud, idiots :TriHard: - but so have the learnsets. You should no longer be stuck without any attacking moves at any point, unless you're deliberately trying to screw yourself over, in which case, good job.
And I'm leaving the biggest part out of the announcement... play the game to find out for yourself!

That being said, the full changelog can be accessed over here, and the game can be played on our Discord server! (Joining the Discord requires 2FA or Nitro to be active on your account. 2FA can be activated for completely free and is a pretty simple procedure, while also keeping all the trolls away!)

Does this thing work?

I just wrote a HTML generator - that's now off the todo list! This uses bare text files to generate all of the pages in a single run from a single template. This should make developing the site much easier! :P

That being said, my next goal is to make general improvements to the site itself. Make it work better on even lower resolutions, optimize the code, add features, improve the project descriptions to make this a complete replacement of the Discord server for information... That last part is especially important, because search engines like it better when I actually link to this site from the outside world, and if I want to do that, I also want to answer all potential questions.

Expect a new post about all these changes in a few days, and feel free to post ideas in the #suggestions channel on our Discord (if you are Level 2+)!

Got eem!

I'm surprised how many people fell for it. Including Yoshi Element, it seems.

It seems that humans are pretty easy to fool. If you make your April Fools prank as realistic as possible (which is what we did), it will trick them without them even considering that it has been posted on April 1st. I'll continue this trend of genuinely releasing things on this day (BiB demo last year was a similar concept).

It also seems that Benedani Fire made an overdramatic message on Discord, even more extreme than the post on this site, and it actually seems to hold truth in it. So about the Discord server, he has announced future changes on there.
About the website, it's pretty messy right now. These "posts" you are reading are fake - they are actually embedded into the HTML code LUL Mobile compatibility also had to be fixed post-release. My future plans are to fix this mess up and implement an easier way for us to make posts - with potential reactions and a reply system in the future?

For now though, it's homework time. Our online education is basically the worst system that could have been considered - give them loads of homework, stress them out, immediately give a 1 (F) for missing one if you aren't the most insane person in the world. So see y'all in a few days, I guess.

It's over for Discord.

As Dark said yesterday, we'll be shutting down the Discord server. Everything the community does is so annoying that we just can't take it anymore.

• The excuses are pathetic. "Ooooooh we do care though! But we can't care 24/7, we are at school!" Especially when the events are spread out across the day. Also, absolutely everyone on the server seems to be so isolated that they are incapable of inviting even a single person. At least Yoshi Element actually uses his brain cells. I mean, yeah, you need a big brain to get away with tax evasion.
• We have people dodging the purges by putting on update roles when they aren't even interested. 5 people are about to get kicked from the server, but there a lot who just have a role so that they don't get affected. But they don't even actually read the announcements for the channels they signed up for.
• Discord is just a generally unsafe platform. You can't do much in terms of security, besides forcing people to have 2FA enabled. Or phone verification, but that's just way too extreme. This means it's easy for people to create alts, and Discord doesn't do much about it. They only ever ban accounts, they don't even attempt to get rid of VPNs. On the other hand, I can easily block VPNs from accessing this site if I want to.

And now that this website exists, the Discord server has become completely useless. There's a separate news channel for like literally every single project here, which would otherwise clog up the channel list. And this website can be loaded up within seconds, especially for the cool benedani.xyz domain, making it much more convenient to access.

We've discussed this with Benedani Dark (the one who works on the projects) and Water (the current server manager). We all agreed on getting rid of the server. So say goodbye - it's vanishing tomorrow.

Yay, website!

Welcome to this amazing website!

I think you'll find that it's pretty convenient - instead of having to open Discord (which can take 80 hours depending on the operating system you're running), all the information can now be accessed right here!
There's also a separate news channel for every. single. project. This isn't really possible with Discord without clogging up the text channel - and because of our self-assignable role system, the role list.

In fact, screw the Discord server. No one ever looks at it anyway. I might delete it tomorrow. No idea.
